Instagram AI reply tools in 2026: what 9 charge for the AI

Skip the OpenAI key: BetterSocials puts AI replies in every plan, from $29 a month for four accounts. See what 8 other Instagram AI reply tools charge.

An Instagram AI reply tool can put the AI in its plan price, bill it on top, or leave the writing to your own Claude, ChatGPT or OpenAI key. Our pick is BetterSocials, for creators and local businesses whose comments and DMs bring in customers. Every BetterSocials plan includes AI replies, from $29 a month, or $24 billed yearly, for four accounts.

InstantDM and ReplyRush cost less to start, and ManyChat charges extra for its AI. Zernio, Blotato and Composio let your own Claude or ChatGPT do the writing. You only need your own OpenAI key when you build the replies yourself, as with an n8n template.

Four ways the AI shows up on your bill

ManyChat, BetterSocials, Blotato and n8n each bill for the AI in a different way. BetterSocials puts it in the plan and meters it in AI credits, where one credit covers one AI reply or draft. ManyChat charges for its AI on top of a plan billed by active contacts.

Blotato, Zernio and Composio can hand the writing to your own Claude or ChatGPT through an MCP server, which is a connector that lets an AI assistant use another app's tools. n8n's template sends the AI bill to your own OpenAI account.

So the question is the monthly bill. Each tool below sits in one of three bands: free to start, under $50 a month, or metered. That shows what the AI adds before you connect an account.

How we sorted the nine into bands

Entry price decided the band for BetterSocials and the eight others. Every competitor price here is what the vendor's own page listed in October 2026, except InstantDM's and ReplyRush's, which are from September. ManyChat's band uses its Pro plan, because its AI sits on Pro and up. Where a vendor lists both monthly and yearly prices, you get both.

We kept tools whose AI writes the reply, or whose connector lets your own assistant write it. CreatorFlow and LinkDM stayed off. Both send keyword and template replies, with no AI replies. If templates cover your questions, our list of 10 Instagram DM tools for small businesses in 2026 sorts those by price.

BetterSocials: from $29 a month with the AI in the plan

BetterSocials is best for creators and local businesses whose comments and DMs bring in customers. It's an AI social media manager that answers Instagram comments and DMs in the owner's voice, learned from the owner's past replies and the AI rules they write.

Every plan includes AI credits, and each AI reply or draft uses one:

  • Creator: $29 a month, or $24 billed yearly, for 4 accounts, 1 login and 1,000 AI credits a month.
  • Pro: $49 a month, or $39 billed yearly, for 6 accounts, 1 login and 2,000 credits.
  • Team: $99 a month, or $79 billed yearly, for 12 accounts, unlimited teammates and 4,000 shared credits.

When the credits run out, the AI pauses. It never bills more on its own.

Contacts, DMs, comments and keyword automations stay unlimited on every plan. Every new comment and DM also gets a tag, and Lead marks the questions about price, booking or availability.

ManyChat: a contact-metered bill with the AI on top

If you build funnels as flows across Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp and TikTok, ManyChat is the tool built for that. Its AI sits on Pro and up and costs extra, on top of a bill metered by active contacts. Pro is $39 monthly for 2,500 active contacts.

Past 2,500 contacts, each one costs $0.05 on Pro. Say your Pro account reaches 4,000 people in a month: you pay $39 + 1,500 x $0.05 = $114 before the AI. A busy month raises the bill, which is why ManyChat lands in the metered band.

InstantDM: a free tier and AI agents for Instagram DMs

InstantDM gives you a cheap start with AI agents on Instagram and Facebook DMs. The agents run on ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. They aren't trained on your own voice. InstantDM had a free tier of 500 credits a month and paid plans at $9.99 and $24.99. Both paid plans come in under $25. The 7-day trial needs no card.

ReplyRush: free for 1,500 DMs, templates first

ReplyRush keeps templates at the core and adds AI auto replies for common questions in Instagram and Facebook DMs. The free plan covers 1,500 DMs a month.

The first paid step is Lite at $10.

Meta Business Suite: free, with Meta's AI still rolling out

Meta Business Suite is best for a free start when templates cover your questions. Its keyword automations send templates you write. You set them up on desktop, and they wait 15 minutes before sending unless you reply first. Each automation takes up to 5 case-sensitive keywords.

Meta's AI option is Instagram AI Auto Replies, which answers messages from a knowledge base you build. It runs in the Instagram mobile app only, and Instagram's help page says it's "being gradually introduced." Before you can use it, you need a professional account and a creator AI built in Meta AI Studio.

Blotato: a posting plan where your assistant writes

For posting plus DMs run by your own Claude or ChatGPT, look at Blotato. Its MCP server gives the assistant tools to list and send DMs and to reply to comments on your published Instagram or Facebook posts. The writing comes out of your assistant's plan, not Blotato's.

Starter was $29 monthly, Creator $97 and Agency $499, all monthly prices, and Blotato says yearly billing saves "about 17%." Watch the trial. MCP access isn't included, and making an API key during the trial ends it and starts billing.

Zernio: per-account pricing with your own AI

Zernio charges per account, which suits developers who bring their own AI assistant. Its hosted MCP server reads and sends DMs and replies to comments across 17 platforms, and your Claude or ChatGPT writes the words. Zernio notes that comment and DM support varies by platform.

The first 2 accounts were free. Accounts 3 to 10 cost $6 a month each, with no annual price, so four accounts come to 2 x $6 = $12 a month. The first 10,000 sent DMs a month are free, then $1 per 10,000.

Composio: a free tier for developers building an agent

Composio is for developers building their own Instagram agent. Its Instagram toolkit has 32 tools, including comment replies and DMs, and connects to Claude Code, Cursor or ChatGPT. Your assistant or your own code does the writing.

Hobby was free for 100,000 tool calls a month, with no card. A tool call is one action your agent asks Composio to run. Pro was $29 monthly plus $0.0003 per tool call over the allowance, and Composio shows monthly prices only.

n8n: bring your own OpenAI key

n8n is best for builders who want to bring their own OpenAI key.

n8n publishes a template to automate Instagram comment replies with OpenAI and Redis tracking, and the AI bill for those replies comes from your own OpenAI account.

What each price band buys at four accounts

Of the nine, BetterSocials and Blotato share the under-$50 band, and only BetterSocials puts the AI in the plan.

BetterSocialsUnder fifty dollars a month$29/month, 4 accountsIncluded in every plan

ZernioFree to start$0 for 2 accountsYour assistant, over MCP
ComposioFree to start$0 for 100,000 tool callsYour assistant or agent code

Zernio, InstantDM, ReplyRush and Meta Business Suite all cost less than BetterSocials to start. At four accounts Zernio comes to $12 a month, and your Claude or ChatGPT plan does the writing. BetterSocials Creator buys 1,000 AI credits, replies in your voice, and comments and DMs in one inbox with unlimited contacts.

Above $50 a month, BetterSocials Team, for 12 accounts and unlimited teammates, runs $99 or $79 billed yearly, while Blotato Creator is $97.

Set up AI replies with the AI in the plan this week

BetterSocials says setup takes about ten minutes. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, card required, which leaves time for these five steps:

  1. Count the Instagram and Facebook accounts you answer for, then pick the plan that covers them: 4 on Creator, 6 on Pro or 12 on Team.
  2. Write your prices, hours and booking link as AI rules, so the AI answers from your facts. Our guide on how to write AI reply rules for prices, hours and bookings has the wording.
  3. Open Settings, then AI voice, and paste a handful of replies you've written into the Your voice box.
  4. Set Comments and DMs to Draft for me for a few days. Approve comment drafts from Needs reply or with Approve in bulk, and send DM drafts one at a time from the conversation.
  5. Switch to Reply in my voice once the drafts read right. Questions keep waiting in Needs reply unless you turn on Answer questions too, which needs at least one AI rule.

FAQ

Do Instagram AI reply tools need my own OpenAI API key?

No, not the ones that include AI in the plan. BetterSocials Creator is $29 a month, or $24 billed yearly, for four accounts with 1,000 AI credits, and each AI reply or draft uses one credit. You need your own OpenAI key when you build the replies yourself, as with n8n's template for Instagram comment replies.

What is the best Instagram AI reply tool with the AI included?

We pick BetterSocials for creators and local businesses who want comments and DMs answered in their voice at a flat price. Creator is $29 a month, or $24 billed yearly, for four accounts, with AI on every plan. InstantDM and ReplyRush cost less to start, and both cover Instagram and Facebook DMs.

Can I use my ChatGPT or Claude plan to answer Instagram DMs?

Yes. BetterSocials connects to Claude and ChatGPT with your normal login and no API key, and Claude can read the inbox and send replies in your voice. In a normal ChatGPT chat, ChatGPT can read the inbox and draft but can't send, because OpenAI keeps write actions for Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces. Blotato, Zernio and Composio also let your assistant work with DMs through their MCP servers.

What happens when the AI credits run out?

The AI pauses. In BetterSocials, credits meter AI writing only, and when they run out the AI stops instead of charging more on its own. Contacts, DMs, comments and keyword automations stay unlimited on every plan.

Does ManyChat include AI in its price?

No. ManyChat's AI sits on Pro and up and costs extra. Pro is $39 a month for 2,500 active contacts, and a Pro account that reaches 4,000 contacts in a month pays $39 + 1,500 x $0.05 = $114 before the AI.

Can AI answer Instagram DMs as well as comments?

Yes. In BetterSocials, AI replies has a Comments section and a DMs section, each with Off, Draft for me and Reply in my voice. On Reply in my voice, a DM gets an answer about a minute after it arrives. Instagram only lets a business reply within 24 hours of the person's last message, so speed matters.
