Posting one video to 5 platforms: the 2026 limits to check

Three limits decide posting one video to five platforms in 2026: accounts per plan, posts per month and editor footage. The caps and prices, compared.

To post one video to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn from one place, three limits on your scheduler decide it: accounts per plan, posts per month and footage per editor project. BetterSocials is best for one person who edits, posts and answers replies in one app, with unlimited posting and 60 minutes of footage per project on Pro. SocialBee is best for a recycled content library, and Metricool's free plan suits a light test at 20 posts a month.

Which limits decide a five-platform video workflow

BetterSocials, SocialBee, Metricool and Buffer all publish one post to several networks, but each meters the job in a different place. We cover it as a rules explainer: the counts, the caps and the reply windows. Each one is a number you can check before the first upload.

Three counts matter before you buy. Accounts per plan decides whether all five platforms fit. Posts per month decides whether daily posting fits, and footage per project decides whether your raw video fits the editor.

A fourth limit starts after the video goes live. Each platform sets its own window for answering the people who reply, and those windows decide which tool should hold your inbox.

Account caps: how many profiles each plan connects

BetterSocials counts social accounts, so five platforms need five connected accounts. Its Creator plan covers four, which leaves one platform out, so a five-platform setup starts on Pro. The prices below are as of October 2026, from each vendor's pricing page.

PlanAccountsMonthly billingYearly billing
BetterSocials Creator4$29 a month$24 a month
BetterSocials Pro6$49 a month$39 a month
BetterSocials Team12$99 a month$79 a month
SocialBee Bootstrap5$29 a month$290 a year
SocialBee Accelerate10$49 a month$490 a year

Buffer is cheaper per account. Six channels on Buffer Essentials run $30 a month on annual billing, as of October 2026. BetterSocials Pro costs $49 a month, or $39 billed yearly, for six accounts, and the difference buys a DM inbox, AI replies in your voice and keyword comment-to-DM.

SocialBee Bootstrap is the cheapest plan here that connects exactly five profiles, at $29 a month or $290 a year with one user. Seats are a separate cap. BetterSocials Creator and Pro are one login each, and only Team adds unlimited teammates.

Post caps: how many uploads a month you get

BetterSocials allows unlimited posting on every plan, so batching a month of daily videos costs the same as one post. The sum for daily posting is simple. One video to five platforms is five posts a day, or 150 posts in a 30-day month.

Metricool's free plan caps scheduling at 20 posts a month, as of October 2026. At five posts a day, that cap runs out on day four. Its paid plans, Starter, Advanced and Custom, list unlimited posts, subject to its fair use policy.

SocialBee meters the library instead of the calendar. Each content category holds 1,000 posts on Bootstrap and 5,000 on Accelerate and Pro, with 10 categories on Bootstrap and 50 on Accelerate. That matters if you recycle evergreen videos, which SocialBee can share again at a later date.

Footage caps: how long a video the editor takes

BetterSocials puts a browser video editor inside every paid plan, and its cap is footage per project: 4 minutes on Creator, 60 minutes on Pro and 2 hours on Team. The editor cuts silence and filler words and adds captions, text, sounds and overlays. The separate free editor is capped at 4 minutes.

Check that cap against your raw footage, before any trimming. Anything over 4 minutes of raw video needs Pro or Team, and the finished clip then posts from the same composer.

Other video tools post too, with narrower reach. Submagic publishes and schedules from its Pro plan, priced per member, to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts only. Each platform's own upload rules sit on top of these caps, so check the network's help page for file size before you schedule a long video.

Network coverage: which tools list all five platforms

SocialBee and Adobe Express both list Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn on their own pages, and BetterSocials posts to all five plus Threads. The table shows what each tool lists, as of October 2026.

BetterSocialsYesThreads7-day trial, card required

Adobe ExpressYesX, PinterestFree plan, one account per network

On LinkedIn, BetterSocials posts to a Company Page or to your own profile. Only a Company Page brings comments back into the inbox, because LinkedIn hides a personal profile's comments and messages from every app. SocialBee lists both LinkedIn personal profiles and company pages for direct posting.

Reply windows: the clock that starts after the video posts

BetterSocials puts the comments and DMs a video earns from every connected platform into one inbox and drafts each reply in your voice. The windows below are the platforms' own rules, and they apply to every tool.

  • Instagram lets a business reply to a DM only within 24 hours of the person's last message.
  • TikTok DMs are reply-only, with at most 10 replies within 48 hours of the person's last message, on a Business account.
  • TikTok only lets apps answer DMs for accounts outside the UK and Europe.
  • YouTube has no DM API for any tool, so YouTube is comments and public replies only.
  • LinkedIn gives no tool a personal profile's comments or DMs, so comments come from a Company Page.

The schedulers split on what comes back. Buffer's inbox covers comments only, with no DMs. Later's Conversations inbox starts on Growth at $50 a month, or $37.50 billed yearly, as of September 2026, with no YouTube or LinkedIn conversations.

Hootsuite includes its inbox from Standard at $99 per user a month billed annually, as of October 2026, a price set for teams. BetterSocials Pro, at $49 a month or $39 billed yearly for six accounts, covers posting and both comments and DMs in one subscription. How to set up the five-platform workflow this week

BetterSocials setup follows the steps below, and the first two apply to any scheduler. Work through them in order, because each one depends on the count from the step before.

  1. Count your accounts. One account per platform is five, which means Pro on BetterSocials or Bootstrap on SocialBee.
  2. Measure your longest raw video. Anything over 4 minutes needs BetterSocials Pro, at 60 minutes, or Team, at 2 hours, for the built-in editor.
  3. Connect each account at Connected Accounts, signing in on the platform's own screen. Each one takes under a minute, and your password never reaches BetterSocials.
  4. Write the post once, pick the five platforms and let the AI draft each caption in your voice. Then schedule it or publish it now.
  5. Open Settings, then AI voice, and set both Comments and DMs to Draft for me. Every new comment or DM gets a draft, and nothing posts until you approve it.
  6. Add one keyword that sends your link when someone comments it. On Instagram and Facebook the keyword sends a DM, and on TikTok, YouTube, Threads and LinkedIn Company Pages it posts a public reply with the link.

For step six, our guide on how to set up "comment LINK and I'll DM you" on Instagram in 2026 has the full setup. Every BetterSocials plan has a 7-day free trial with a card, and the trial connects its plan's own count: 4 accounts on Creator, 6 on Pro and 12 on Team.

FAQ

Can one scheduler publish to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn?

Yes. SocialBee and Adobe Express list all five among their networks, and BetterSocials posts to all five plus Threads. BetterSocials Pro covers six accounts for $49 a month, or $39 billed yearly, so five platforms fit on one plan.

What does a social media scheduler cost for five platforms in 2026?

Six channels on Buffer Essentials run $30 a month on annual billing. SocialBee Bootstrap is $29 a month, or $290 a year, for five profiles. BetterSocials Pro is $49 a month, or $39 billed yearly, for six accounts, and adds a comment and DM inbox with AI replies.

Is there a free way to post to every platform at once?

Metricool's free plan schedules up to 20 posts a month, which five daily posts use up in four days. Adobe Express's free plan connects one account per network. BetterSocials has no free plan, and every plan has a 7-day free trial with a card and a 30-day money-back guarantee on the first paid charge.

How long a video can I edit in BetterSocials before I post it?

The BetterSocials editor takes 4 minutes of footage per project on Creator, 60 minutes on Pro and 2 hours on Team. It cuts silence and filler words and adds captions. The separate free editor is capped at 4 minutes, and you post the finished video from the same app.

Do LinkedIn comments come back when I post from a scheduler?

In BetterSocials, posting works for a LinkedIn Company Page and for your own profile. Only a Company Page brings comments into the inbox, because LinkedIn hides a personal profile's comments and messages from every app. A personal profile gets posting and analytics only.

Can a scheduler also answer the comments that come back?

Some can. Buffer's inbox covers comments only, with no DMs, and Later's Conversations inbox starts on Growth at $50 a month, or $37.50 billed yearly. BetterSocials puts comments and DMs from every connected platform in one inbox and drafts each reply in your voice.
